Wide receiver John Ross received a special message of congratulations from rapper Snoop Dogg before he was drafted ninth overall by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Ross, who grew up in Long Beach, California, and played at Washington, participated in the Snoop Youth Football League as a youngster. Snoop Dogg founded the SYFL in the Los Angeles area in 2005, and the league has since expanded throughout California.

Ross said he appreciated everything Snoop Dogg did for him and the community.
“I’d love to come back now and contribute now that I’m in a powerful position and a blessed position,” he said.
