Arizona Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson is a “longshot” to play in Sunday’s NFC West battle against the Los Angeles Rams, NFL Media Insiders Ian Rapoport reports.
Peterson, who is listed as questionable with a neck injury, will be a game-day decision.
Peterson suffered the injury during last Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and didn’t practice all week.
Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Friday that Peterson is the type of player who doesn’t need to practice to play.
If Peterson is unable to go, Kerwynn Williams is expected to get the start.
Peterson, who was traded to the Cardinals after four games with the New Orleans Saints, has rushed for 529 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
