Two Arizona Cardinals starters, running back Andre Ellington and right guard Paul Fanaika, have been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ellington sustained a hip pointer in last Sunday’s loss at Atlanta. He already had been dealing with soreness in the other hip and, most significantly, a partially torn tendon in his foot.
Second-year pro Stepfan Taylor will start in Ellington’s place, with rookie Marion Grice backing him up.
Fanaika’s injury will clear the way for Jonathan Cooper, last year’s first-round draft pick, to make his first pro start.
